Happy Mardi Gras!

Happy Mardi Gras! (However after several years of living in Louisiana I still am not really sure what Mardi Gras celebrates.) I'd much rather say "Happy Spring!" But in Rome do as the Romans. Happy Mardi Gras!
We've been to a total of 2 parades this year! I think that is plenty. Sorry all you native Southerners but we native Californian's just can't cope with parade after parade. It's simply not our practice of fun. Lee and I have disected the purpose of Mardi Gras and have come to the conclusion that it is a "southern tradition" and it must be an excuse to turn everything into a party with friends and family. However I can't deny how wide Cooper's eyes got when we saw the sights at Selene's Night Parade. So for our kids sake, who are native Louisiana's, we'll do the Mardi Gras thing and try not to cringe too obviously. Ha Ha Ha !

We love watching and laughing at Daddy watch the Super Bowl.

We were rooting for the Cardinals, too bad Steelers beat 'em!

After a morning playdate and a busy day in Mandeville. This was the scene at 6:15pm.

Happy Birthday Allie!

It has been such a blessing to have our little girl, Allie in our lives. The days ahead we are eager to experience and yet look back at the past year in awe.

Our little Valentine miracle has a story to tell that I have shared with just a few people.

Almost two weeks before my due date I was at church on a Wednesday night and a friend, Becky asked me, "So when are you going to have this baby!" I said, "Well actually ... I'm going to go into labor at in a few hours because tomorrow is Valentines day! I've asked God to bring her on Valentines day because wouldn't that be so sweet to have a little girl on Valentines day?And 4am would be the ideal time because Lee's working nights and he'll be awake at 4am and by the time I go through a few hours of Labor he should be able to be on the first flight at 9am to meet me at the hospital in plenty of time to help me deliver. " Becky said, "It sounds like you have it all figured out!" I said, "We'll see how it all turns out, but I've prayed about it all!"

Don't you know that I went to sleep that night and at 4:15 am my water broke on Valentines day! The first thing I did before calling anyone was look at the clock and I said,

"WOW God, you are just awsome!"

Yeah, God answered my prayer specifically by giving me a Valentines baby girl and Lee made it just a few hours before we delivered our Allie. Yes, God can do anything if you ask him. However her birth story still astounds me!

Allie's Stats:

Allie has survived her 2yr. old brother and loves to watch him.

Allie has 2 bottom teeth.

Allie can squel with delight louder than Cooper can.

Allie loves sweet potatoes.

Allie has said, "hi" and "Dada" intentionally.

Allie is still learning to walk.

Allie likes to ride in the wagon for our daily walks.

Allie's best friends are Cooper and Mady.

Allie loves to go to her Sun. bible class.

Allie likes to nuzzle head to head with Mama.

Allie likes to tenderly touch Daddy's ears.

Allie likes to have Cooper's head in her lap while she strokes and pulls his hair

Our prayer is that Allie grow to be full of grace and compassion. The scripture we have choosen to guide her through life is: "Always be full of JOY in the Lord. I say again, Rejoice! Let everyone see that you are gentle in all you do." Phil 4:4

We are so thankful that Allie is the girl God chose for us.

Happy Birthday Allie-Girl!
