Spring Cake!

I know that I posted this same receipe last summer but I just made it again (as I always do) and had to share it.
This one is supper easy, uses very few ingredients, kids can help with, and the end result is very pretty.

You'll need only 4 ingredients:
1. one yellow or white cake mix and the stuff to make it
(usually eggs, butter, water/oil)

2. Whipped Topping (cool whip, stuff in the tub)

3.  3oz. pack of jello (the small box) I use Strawberry or Cherry
Don't get the sugar free kind.

4.  Strawberries for garnish (optional)

To do:
Bake the cake as directed in a 9X13pan (no need to grease it)
When it's cooled a bit take a fork and poke many many many holes in the cake.
Make sure the fork poke holes go all the way through the entire cake to the bottom of pan.
Poke holes at the edges of the cake too. (Kids can do this)

Then mix the jello with one cup of boiling water then add one cup of cold water. Stir
Then take the watery jello mixture and spoon it all over the cake.
I know, it will seem like too much but trust me and just continue to slowly drizzle the jello over the cake.
(Kids can do this)

Next, top with whipped topping.  Garnish with a few sliced strawberries if you like.
Then refigerate for at least one hour. Cake is best cold!
The cake is so moist and will have a ribbon effect when you slice it.
